Vin & Jaclyn Temple Ceremony (Actual Day)

We loved our casual shoot with them so much that it was a no brainer to ask them to photograph for us for our temple ceremony

I think all of you who have visited our website by now should have seen this set of photos of Jac & Vin with their adorable Django. It was a super spontaneous, "fate brought us together" kind of moment I would say. Long story short there was an additional slot under our opening promo, and Jac had texted me via DM. Unfortunately we had just booked another couple, but we were definitely still keen to photograph her "family" shoot as was she. So so glad we met such an amazing couple, because fast forward to 1 July, she requested us to cover her Indian temple wedding as well.

Image heavy post coming up!

I will always share my favourite photo from the event first, because it will really set the tone for the rest of the post. I know everyone wants to see a gorgeous picture of the bride during the wedding, there will definitely be plenty of that. But, the perspective of the groom is also equally important, especially during an Indian ceremony where putting on the Thali which identifies the bride as a married woman.

After I captured this shot it literally took my breath away, and you go "This is what makes being wedding photographers worth it". I am usually the 2nd photographer while Grey is the main photographer, so I have more opportunity to cover the candid moments.

Also love that while bokeh-ed, you can still see his parents in the background (in blue) clapping an smiling in immense happiness.

Shooting a wedding its much more complex than a casual or a prewedding shoot because you need to capture all the details that encapsulate the ceremony.

Luckily we had experience photographing an Indian temple ceremony, Grey's sister had hers a couple of years back. One thing we love about the temple ceremony is the vibrancy of colours. J&V had their ceremony in an Indian temple at Rivervale Crescent which was recently renovated, and I must say its really impressive! It had a really gorgeous sunroof overhead and a lot of windows, which is why all the shots looked great with the natural light streaming in. When we were post-processing, there was not much colour or light correcting to be done.

Had to post a big picture of Jaclyn because her sari is gorgeous! I think she received a lot of compliments for it!! :)

Holding her hand, adjusting her necklace, helping her with the blessings are just little details that Vin did for Jaclyn that really makes me happy as a photographer to capture. These are moments that I hope they will both remember through our photographs, on the day that get married in the eyes of God. Most people wouldn't think much of such shots, but I really think it shows the tender moment of love between two individuals.

It brings us immense joy to be a part of a couple's big day, especially since we photographed them before.

My style really differs greatly from Grey's because I focus more on emotion and moments during a ceremony while he is more technical and precise with his framing. Maybe I am biased but I think most of the photos that I chose for this post are what I took instead of his! Like I can look at the photos and know which are taken by him and which are by me. Should get him to add in some comments too as well for future posts, but he says this is something I am more suited to do.

I feel like I am already posting too many photos in this post, and later I am still going to add their photos to the main portfolio on the landing page. But I just can't help myself since I really enjoy the visuals from this day.

I am going to post this final set of images because I find that it really also shows off a parent's love for their children when you see them get married. We don't have kids yet ourselves but we have shot enough weddings and experienced our own as well to know that it will always be difficult to have a dry eye in the house (temple in this case). It's a bittersweet feeling, your child is finally growing up and starting a family of their own and yet you are also overjoyed with bliss and pride to see the union of two wonderful individuals.

I am sure I will cry buckets when my future child gets married. Better be prepared with tissues.

They’ve gotten such lovely shots, and its everything I could have ever dreamed of!

Honestly, reading such words from a client that I can talk so freely with is very heartwarming. We're not some big shot photographers yet, but we hope that we can slowly grow to become photographers that more people trust and believe in.

I hope this post fills everyone with joy just as much as we had seeing all the wonderful emotions and colours of Jaclyn & Vin's temple ceremony. They're destination wedding ceremony will be coming soon and we wish them both the very best!

Fin.
